There is a magic shop on Main Street in Tokyo Disneyland wich is very special because since 1983 it has been operated by the Tenyo Co. There are also live demonstrations of magic being performed on an almost continuous basis both inside the shop and on a small platform outside the shop. This is a fun place, and it's worth a look because many of the standard Tenyo tricks are sold here but Tenyo also licenses Disney characters to make custom Disney magic tricks wich are only sold in this shop. This year Tokyo Disneyland celebrates its 30th anniversary and a large collection of tricks have been produced to celebrate this jubilee. There is a wide variety of tricks that have received a new look and a new package. Here is a short presentation of this commemorative collection.

Il y a un magasin de magie vraiment spécial sur Main Street au parc Disneyland à Tokyo car depuis 1983 il est tenu par la compagnie Tenyo. Si vous allez au Japon c'est vraiment un endroit intéressant à visiter parce que de nombreux tours de chez Tenyo sont vendus là bas mais Tenyo a aussi adapté ses tours en utilisant l'image des personnages Disney, commercialisés uniquement dans cette boutique. De plus il y a tout au long de la journée un démonstrateur qui présente les tours de magie à l'intérieur du magasin mais aussi à l'extérieur sur une petite scène. Cette année, le parc Tokyo Disneyland célèbre ses 30ans d'existence et une large collection de tours de magie Tenyo ont été produit pour célébrer ce jubilé. On retrouve une grande variété d'effets qui bénéficient d'un nouvel habillage ainsi que d'un nouveau package. Voici une présentation rapide de cette collection commémorative.

Tenyo Magic Cups

The Disney version of the classic Tenyo Cups and Balls. The cups and balls is a classic performance of magic with innumerable adaptations. The most widely performed version of the effect uses three cups and three small balls. The magician makes the balls pass through the solid bottoms of the cups, jump from cup to cup, disappear from the cup and appear in other places, or vanish from various places and reappear under the cups. The cups of this version have been decorated with stickers representing Donald, Mickey and Minnie. Additionally the package contains a small wand that is white with black tip. Magical wands are usually black with white tip but this particularity has already been observed in the trick T-99 Mystery Of High Hat which was also sold with a white wand in some versions. Maybe in Japan it is not unusual to have white magical wand.

La version Disney du classique Tenyo Cups and Balls où trois petites éponges pénètrent à travers trois gobelets solides en plastique de manière inexplicable .Les gobelets ont été décorés avec des stickers représentant Donald, Mickey et Minnie. Ils contiennent en plus une petite baguette magique qui est blanche avec des extrémités noires, une configuration plutôt étonnante car en général les baguettes de magicien sont noires avec des bouts blanc. Ce n'est pas la première fois qu 'on observe cette particularité car une baguette blanche de ce type a déjà été vendue dans certaines versions du tour T-99 Mystery Of High Hat. Peut être qu'au japon il n'est pas inhabituel d'avoir des baguettes magiques de ce type.

Tenyo Magical Balloon Cards

It's a kind of Rising Card trick which has already been used by Tenyo in the Mac Donald's Happy meal range and there is another version "Super Rising Card" wich is offered as a bonus with some tricks in Japan (see below). A spectator choose a card at random and put it back into the deck. The deck of cards is now inserted in small case and a magical wand is inserted horizontally through the case. When the wand is lifted up, only one card is driven with and this is the card chosen by the spectator.

Un spectateur choisi une carte au hasard puis le retourne dans le paquet. Le paquet est inséré dans un étui puis une baguette magique est enfoncée à l'horizontale. Here is the commemorative version of T-69 Dynamic Coin. On metal lids are engraved a mickey head on the first and a 30th anniversary commemorative text on the second. There are already a large number of Disney version of Dynamic Coin. Some of which have been sold for the 10th and 20th anniversary of the park. More different versions exist as they are sold at Tokyo Disney sea (which uses characters from Aladdin and the Genii) or Tokyo Disney Land (which uses the character of Mickey).

Tenyo Magic Cube

Here are commemorative Disney magic Cube which is the Tenyo Disney version of T-133 Bare Bones. There are some small difference with the original version because instead of the skeleton disappearing off the blocks as in Bare Bones, the block with balloon disappears and reappears in the box. More,There is no window in the tube of Disney Magic cubes this also allows the tube to be freely shown from all angles. This version is much easier to perform than Bare Bones (because the cubes have a ridge at the periphery at the top, and a recess that fits the ridge on the bottom, so they stack evenly and quickly) but it doesn't quite have the finale that Bare Bones has.

Three sponge balls fly into the spectator's hand and move from your pocket to your hand. The possibilities are endless. Since 1976 Tenyo has developed a special sponge material for use in magic trick. This material is the softest sponge ever created and this effect was declined by Tenyo many times over the years. Tenyo had already produced rabbit shaped sponges in the 70s but today there are many versions using Pokemon, heart, Stich or even French fries sponges in the Mac Donalds collection and it's natural that Tenyo produced numerous version for Disney like this one for the 30th anniversary with the head of Mickey.

A pencil is placed into a case where it remains fully visible. The center portion of the case is pulled sideways, cutting the pencil into three seperate pieces which can be removed and examined. The center portion is pushed back into place and instantly the pencil is TOTALLY RESTORED and can be handed out immediately. Magical Pencil is the famous T-110 Zig Zag Cig trick redecorated for the occasion and using a pencil instead of a cigarette. In the past Tenyo has adapted Zig Zag Cig in many ways, for example by using a skeleton, to replace the use of the cigarette which is not suitable for young audiences.
