"Night Passage"
Shigeru Sugawara

English:
A metal ring and a small wooden ball is shown. It is obvious that the ball is larger than the opening of the ring, the ball cannot fit through the ring. The ball is dropped into the center of a silk. The ends of silk is taken up and threaded through the ring, effectively "holding" the ball inside the silk. In other words, the wooden ball holds the ring on the silk, preventing it to fall free. The ball, through the silk is dropped into a drinking glass and the silk is draped around the mouth of the glass and held there by an elastic band. The glass is shaken and wonders of wonders, the ring falls free into the glass ! This is one of the most amazing penetrations ever presented.

"The great Rubber band Mystery"
Shigeru Sugawara

English:
Again, here is one of the darndest things! It looks simple, but it fools everyone!
The magician shows a long thin metal rod, a large ring with a hole through it, an elastic band and a silk. The magician then inserts the rod through the two holes in the ring and cover the ring with a silk. A spectator is asked to hold both ends of the rod. The magicians goes under the silk with the elastic band, and a moment later removes the silk. The band is seen to be linked on the rod, in the center of the ring.

"Out Out, Damned Spot !"
Hiroshi Kondo

English:
The magician shows four cards: each are identical and have a single spot on their face. They are shown to have normal playing cards backs. One by one, the spots are magically caused to congregate on one card. At the end, you have three blank cards and one four spot!

"Hallucination"
Hiroshi Kondo

English:
A die is shown to have one spot on one side. But opposite the two is a three - no, it's four! - I mean a five ! No, really a six, and on the other side of the six is, well, a one !
This trick is an example of fine magical thinking. The old effect of using the twist move with a die is well known to magicians, but never has that idea been brought to such a logical and puzzling conclusion as in HALLUCINATION.

"The Eyes Have It"
Hideo Kato

English:
This is a card trick that seems to be impossible. A deck of cards is borrowed, and the cards are shuffled by a spectator. The magician explain that the cards look old, and have spots on them. Taking the deck, and starting at the top face-down cards, the magician explains that these spots tell him that the top card must be the ( for instance) king of hearts. The card is turned over and the card is indeed the king of hearts. The magician explains that the spectator should really get rid of this card, and the king is left face up on the table. Staring at the back of the next card, the magician announces that it looks like eight of diamonds. Again the magician is correct, and the eight is left on the table.
On the third card, the magician appears to have difficulty in reading the back, and the card is set aside for a moment, face down. The deck is shuffled and the spectator is asked to touch any card. The card so touched is studied for a moment, and the magician announces that is the Jack of spades. Again the magician is shown to be correct.
Turning is attention to the third "difficult" card on the table face down. The magician gazes at it for a moment and announces that he can now see that is the five of hearts. Of course, he is right again.
