You get out of a case a deck of cards contains 4 Aces and 4 Jacks. The four Jacks are placed face down on the table near the spectator and the magician keeps the four Aces in hand. The magician then takes one of the Aces and exchange against one of the Jacks of the package on the table. So there are three Jacks and 1 Ace on the table and three Aces and 1 Jack in the hand of the magician. After a magical gesture, the three Aces will turn one by one into Jacks. And spectators will discover that the Jacks remained on tables have turned into Aces.

Trivia:
In 1996 Tenyo established its first campaign with the customer loyalty program "Magic + 1". In exchange for collected coupons on the boxes of magic tricks the buyer will receive by mail an additional exclusive magic trick. Since Tenyo has renewed this program every year and has created a unique trick with each new collection. These special tricks offered through this program are always high quality, they are every time very ingenious and enjoy a stylish design. They are therefore an integral part of the main series and are invented by the star creators of the brand. Unfortunately this program is only for Japan, these special tricks are unobtainable in the other regions of the world and are now very rare and sought after by collectors. Today in 2012 there are a total of 17 special Tenyo, one each year.

Vous sortez d'un étui un paquet de cartes qui contient 4 as et 4 valets. Les 4 valets sont posés face cachée sur la table près du spectateur et le magicien garde les 4 as en main. Le magicien prend alors un des as et l'échange contre un des valets du paquet sur la table. Il y a donc 3 valets et un as sur la table et 3 as et un valet dans la main du magicien. Âpres un geste magique les 3 as que tient le magicien vont se transformer un à un en valet. Et les spectateurs vont découvrir que les valets restés sur la tables se sont transformés en As.

Trivia:

C'est en 1996 que Tenyo mettra en place pour la première fois sa campagne de fidélisation des clients avec le programme "Magic + 1". En échange des points collectés sur les boites des tours de magie l'acheteur pourra recevoir par la poste un tour supplémentaire exclusif. Depuis Tenyo a renouvelé ce programme chaque année et a crée un tour inédit à chaque nouvelle collection. Ces tours offerts à travers ce programme sont toujours de grande qualité, ils sont à chaque fois très ingénieux et il bénéficient d'un design recherché et soigné. Il font donc partie intégrante de la collection principale et son d’ailleurs inventé par les créateurs star de la marque. Hélas ce programme n'est valable que pour le Japon, ces tours spéciaux sont donc impossible à obtenir par les occidentaux et sont donc devenus très rare et recherchés par les amateurs de tours Tenyo.   Aujourd'hui en 2012 il existe en tout 17 "Tenyo spécial", un par année. A borrowed bill is balanced on top of a pencil tip. With spectator’s command, the bill starts spinning without anyone touching it. The bill can be stopped and then restarted to spin freely at anytime. You have complete control over the bill, and can make it stop, and even rotate in the opposite direction. The well-constructed gimmick makes many effects possible. The bill can be stuck on the pencil even you lift up the pencil. The bill is placed on the pencil in the coffee cup. Without touching anything, the bill spins on the pencil. You can have spectator examine the pencil after performance so you can perform this impromptu-looking effect whenever you wish.

Le magicien présente un crayon et un billet de banque aux spectateurs. Le billet qui peut être emprunté est plié en deux dans le sens de la longueur et il est placé en équilibre sur le crayon. Sans jamais toucher le billet, celui ci va se mettre à bouger doucement et à se mettre en rotation sur simple commande du spectateur. Vous avez un contrôle complet sur le billet et sa rotation peut être stoppé à tout moment pour reprendre quand vous l'aurez décidé, vous pourrez même le faire tourner dans le sens inverse. Ensuite le crayon est placé dans un petit verre, afin que le magicien ne le touche plus du tout et pourtant le billet continuera à tourner encore et encore sans explication. En fait de nombreux effets sont possible grâce au gimmick astucieusement incorporé au crayon et il est même possible, si besoin, de laisser les spectateurs examiner le crayon et le billet à la fin de la performance.

A play mat in green cloth is presented, it's a miniature version of those that were found at the casino when playing roulette. On one side there is the drawing of roulette with various playing cards drawn above and the other side there is the part that is usually used to bet money in which we find all the playing cards available in the roulette. You suggest to the viewer to play a game similar to roulette at the casino but here the ball is replaced by a small disk on which various numbers are listed. You ask the spectator to secretly choose any playing card as a starting point on the roulette wheel. Now you ask the spectator to take the disk and secretly choose one of the numbers that are printed above and then place the disk in the center of the roulette by aligning the number he has chosen with the "starting point" that it has chosen on the wheel at first. You explain that you know neither the card nor the number chosen by the spectator and there are dozens of different combinations possible. Yet you place a coin on the table betting as your prediction and you ask the spectator to move clockwise around the wheel the number equal to the number he has chosen on the disk. Now you ask the spectator tell you wich card they stopped on. Finally you lift the coin, so that your spectator can see that the card they landed on matches the card under the coin. The magician was right and if you were in Casino, and you had the hability to predict the number before the ball has stopped, you could win a lot of money! Unfortunately is not magician who wants!

Un tapis de jeu en tissu vert est présenté, version miniature de ceux que l'on trouve au casino lorsqu'on joue à la roulette. D'un coté il y a le dessin de la roulette et ses cases qui représentent diverses cartes à jouer et de l'autre la partie qui sert habituellement à miser avec un tableau dans lequel on retrouve toutes les cartes disponibles sur la roulette. Vous proposez au spectateur de jouer à un jeu similaire à celui de la roulette du casino mais ici la balle est remplacée par un petit disque sur lequel divers nombres sont inscrits. Vous demandez au spectateur de choisir secrètement un point de départ sur la roulette, il choisit donc une des cartes à jouer dessinée dessus. Maintenant, vous demandez au spectateur de prendre le disque et de choisir mentalement un des nombres qui sont imprimés dessus puis de placer le disque au centre de la roulette en alignant le nombre sélectionné avec la carte "point de départ" qu'il a choisi sur la roulette au début. Vous faites remarquer que vous ne connaissez ni la carte, ni le nombre choisi par le spectateur et qu'il y a des dizaines de combinaisons différentes possibles. Pourtant, vous placez une pièce de monnaie sur la table de pari qui représente votre prédiction. Maintenant, il est demandé au spectateur de partir de sa carte de départ et d'avancer du nombre de cases indiqué par le nombre qu'il a choisi sur le disque, dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre, autour de la roulette. Vous demandez alors au spectateur sur quelle carte il s'est arrêté. Vous désignez alors la pièce de monnaie, votre prédiction, et demandez au spectateur de regarder en dessous. La carte sur laquelle le spectateur s'est finalement arrêté est la même que celle qu'il y a sous la pièce de monnaie. Le magicien a vu juste et si comme lui vous étiez capable, au casino, de prédire à la roulette le nombre gagnant avant que la boule s'arrête vous pourriez gagner beaucoup d'argent! Hélas n'est pas magicien qui veut!

Place a finger ring or coin inside of the box, close the lid, and allow your audience to hear the object rattle around inside. Suddenly the rattling sound stops, and the box is completely empty! For years, magicians have used such “rattle boxes" in their performances. However this box has been entirely redesigned with a brand new gimmick. The best way to understand how advanced this gimmick has become is to hold it in your own hands. You can immediately hand out the box to a spectator since its clever gimmick is so well-hidden. We consider this to be the ultimate rattle box. Two routines are included: “Instant Ring Transport" in which a ring vanishes from inside the box and instantly appears on your finger, and “Magic Knot" in which a borrowed coin vanishes from the box thanks to a magical handkerchief.

Dans une deuxième routine proposée par Tenyo vous pourrez faire disparaitre une pièce de monnaie pour la faire réapparaitre dans le nœud d'un foulard que vous aurez montré vide auparavant. En vous trouverez sans problème de multiples application pour cette petite boite. Son mécanisme est extrêmement ingénieux et la qualité de fabrication est tout simplement irréprochable. Trap Box Bien est plus qu'une simple "Rattle boxe" car il combine deux mécanisme différents de manière inédite, de plus la boite est examinable sans risque.

The magician twists a string of beads together to create a toy poodle. This poodle is wrapped inside of a handkerchief. To everyone's surprise, they can hear the dog barking! At the end of the trick, the magician puts the dog away in his pocket. The barking continues to come from within his pocket.
This new trick is based on the concept of sound. Think how surprised everyone will be when they hear a cute beaded poodle start barking! You can also draw a picture of a dog on a sheet of paper, and wrap the illustration inside of the handkerchief. Even that dog will bark, to everyone's delight.
This unique trick is both comical and mysterious. You'll be surprised at the clever secret. You appear to be using completely normal, ungimmicked props, so they will be doubly surprised when they hear the toy dog's voice.

Development story:
The idea of twisting beads into a dog has been around since the 1940's. Although the originator is unknow, the concept is based on balloon animal dogs that are twisted in the same manner. Daniel Cros, a professional magician in Las Vegas, used the beaded poodle in magic for the first time. He combined loose beads whit a lenght of string, and magically created a chain of beads. Then he twisted the chain into a poodle and made the poodle bark. British magician Gee Mahabia recently created a completely different method for making a beaded dog bark, enabling the magician to show both hands empty. We at Tenyo added the handkerchief, and the dog drawing to Mahabia's gimmick, making this a fun and entertaining routine that you will love to perform.

A l'aide d'une chaînette de perles, le magicien fabrique un petit chien, un peu à la manière des sculpteurs de ballons. L'animal est ensuite emprisonné dans les plis d'un foulard. A la surprise générale, on peut entendre les aboiements du petit chien... A la fin de la présentation, le magicien place le chien dans sa poche et on l'entend toujours aboyer dans la poche ! Un spectateur peut également dessiner un chien et placer le dessin sous le foulard, on l'entendra également aboyer. Vous l'aurez compris, cet effet tient plus du gag que du véritable tour de magie. Le tour est livré avec 2 chainettes de rechanges, un foulard blanc et le gimmick.

Histoire du développement:
L'idée de créer un chien grâce des perles est apparu dans les années 1940. Même si les origines de ce tour son inconnues, le concept est basé sur les animaux crée grâce à des long ballons que l'ont tord dans tout les sens pour finalement faire apparaitre l'animal désiré. Daniel Cros, un magicien professionnel à Las Vegas utilisa des Caniches crée avec des perles pour la première fois. Il combina des perles avec un bout de ficelle pour créer un caniche et le faire aboyer comme par magie. Le magicien Anglais Gee Mahabia a récemment crée une méthode complètement différente pour faire aboyer un Caniche de perle, permettant au magicien de montrer ses deux mains vides. Tenyo à ajouté au gimmick crée par Mahabia le foulard et l'idée du chien dessiné sur un papier, fessant de ce tour de magie une routine joyeuse et rigolote que vous prendrez beaucoup de plaisir à présenter.

A matchbox is decorated on one side with a top hat, and on the reverse, a gift box tied with a ribbon. You explain that there is a dove inside the gift box. You remove a match and wave it like a magic wand. Suddenly, a dove figurine appears on top of the matchbox! When you show the picture of the gift box on the rear of the matchbox, its ribbon is now untied, and the gift box is empty.
This trick is perfect when someone asks you to produce a bird, on the spot. You can magically produce a cute dove figurine right in front of your audience's eyes. The clever secret hidden within the matchbox enables you to produce the figurine and transform the illustration simultaneously. You also receive a rabbit figurine, so you can choose which animal is most appropriate for your performance. 

About creator:

Tomoyuki Shimomura is our youngest staff member, having joined the development section in 1988. The three staff members already introduced here are "old generation", whereas Shimomura is very much of the "new generation". In 1989 he has produced a remarkable new product which reflect his youthful approach. He started as a talented performer, but he was also skilled as a technical writer due to his deep knowledge of magic. Since 1988 he has written all of our new product manuals for the Japanese market. In 1989 he is brushing up on his talents as an inventor, and we look forward to seeing his work. His forte is producing effects that are entertaining but which also have an interesting story line. With his knowledge of close-up magic, he was commissioned to write for An Introduction To Card Magic. He is a polished technical writer and therefore invaluable to Tenyo for the instruction sheets included with the products.Tomoyuki Shimomura creates lot of great effects like Ghost Pet, Mystery China Box, Bird Watcher, The Eye of the Idol, Crystal Pyramid, Moonspinner, Wild Wallet and many many more others Tenyo magic trick. Review:
For me, this Magician's Matchbox combines all the aspects that make you love Tenyo. This effect has a very beautiful design, sober and complex at the same time, it uses an object of everyday life, the idea is entirely original, the mechanism is simple but at the same time extremely clever and the viewer has no idea what will pass which increases even more surprised. Over here we have a two in one effect with firts the appearance of a dove that is already incredible, but also when the public imagines that the effect is finished he attends a second miracle with the change of drawing on the matchbox. It's a trick you can carry with you all the time, and smoking magician will be very proud to have in their pocket this beautiful little matchbox so pretty, so magic, so special. To be honest this trick is one of my favorite of all the collection and suggest you get it without hesitation before it becomes difficult to find.

Une boîte d'allumette est décoré d'un chapeau haut de forme sur l'un de ses côtés, et d'un cadeau fermé par un ruban sur l'autre côté. Vous sortez une allumette de la boîte et l'agitez comme une baguette magique. Soudainement, un figurine de colombe apparaît sur le dessus de la boîte ! Lorsque vous montrez à nouveau l'image du cadeau sur la boîte d'allumette, son ruban est maintenant détaché et... la boîte est vide ! Dans la boite vous trouverez deux figurine, une de colombe et une de lapin. Un très beau tour que j'affectionne tout particulièrement du fait de son design et aussi pour l'effet deux en un. C'est une fois de plus un tour que vous pourrez emmener partout avec vous et que vous n'hésiterez pas à présenter quand on vous demandera si vous avez du feu...

Concernant le créateur:
Tomoyuki Shimomura est le plus jeune membre de l'équipe Tenyo, il a rejoint la section de développement en 1988. Les 3 membres de l'équipe qui étaient déjà en place sont plutôt de la "vieille génération" alors que Shimomura est vraiment ancré dans la "nouvelle génération." En 1989 il a produit un effet remarquable qui reflète parfaitement sa vision pleine de fraicheur du monde de la magie. Il a commencé en tant que talentueux magicien mais il est aussi particulièrement efficace dans l'écriture de notion techniques grâce a sa grande connaissance de l'histoire de la magie. Pendant de nombreuses années il a rédigé toute les notices de nos nouvelle productions pour le marché japonais. En 1989 il a démontré ses capacités comme inventeur et il suffit de regarder ses production sorties depuis pour se rendre compte de son talent. Tomoyuki Shimomura a crée un grand nombre de superbes effets comme par exemple Ghost Pet, Mystery China Box, Bird Watcher, The Eye of the Idol, Crystal Pyramid, Moonspinner, Wild Wallet et de nombreux autres ... En 2012 et après 28ans de bons et loyaux services, Tomoyuki Shimomura à du quitter Tenyo pour reprendre l'entreprise de son père souffrant.

Review:
"Magician's Matchbox" est pour moi un concentré de ce que Tenyo fait de meilleur. Le tour bénéficie d'un design soigné et recherché, il utilise un objet de la vie de tout les jours, l'idée est totalement originale, le mécanisme est simple mais en même temps extrêmement ingénieux et le spectateur n'a aucune idée de ce qui va ce passer renforçant d'autant plus la surprise. De plus on a ici un effet deux en un avec d'un coté l' apparition d'une colombe qui est déjà incroyable mais en plus au moment ou le public imagine que l'effet est finit il assiste à un deuxième miracle avec la transformation du dessin sur la boite d'allumette. C'est un tour que vous pourrez emmener tout le temps avec vous, et les magicien fumeurs seront très fier d'avoir cette petite boite d'allumette si jolie et si spéciale avec eux. Pour être honnête ce tour fait parti de mes préféré de toute la collection et vous conseil donc de vous le procurer sans hésitation avant qu'il devienne difficile à trouver.

The magician displays a small plastic box and explains that a ghost lives inside. He slides open the drawer and shows the box to be empty. As soon as the box is closed, it suddenly starts to move atop the magician's outstretched hand, and even stands up without any visible support. Finally, the box opens all by itself, and a message from the ghost magically appears inside the previously empty drawer! At the end, you can show the interior of the box to your audience. There is nothing out of the ordinary to be found.

Le magicien montre une petite boîte noire joliment décorée et explique qu'elle est habitée par un fantôme. Elle est ouverte et montrée vide mais dès que le magicien la referme celle ci se met à bouger puis à avancer dans sa main. Le magicien repositionne la boite au milieu de sa paume et d'un coup le boite se soulève pour tenir debout à la verticale ! Pour finir elle s'ouvre toute seule et contient un message du fantôme alors qu'au début la boite avait bien été montrée vide... Bonne qualité, bonne idée, bel effet.

An odd-looking gold finger is shown to rest inside of a box. “This is a replica of a legendary magician’s finger. It helped him to become extremely rich. Some people believe that the finger still contains some magic power.” The magician places a sheet of blank paper on top of the finger, and places the lid onto the box. When the lid is removed, the blank paper has transformed into a real dollar bill! When the lid is replaced and removed again, the finger comes to life and transforms into a real, live finger. When the box is covered one more time, the bill turns back into paper, and the finger turns back into the gold replica. Your audience will think that this trick is simply about changing the blank paper into real currency, so they will be shocked by the surprising climax. You can choose to present this as a dark mystery, or as a light-hearted joke to provoke laughter. It's up to you!

En fait il s'agit d'un doigt d'un magicien disparu mais qui avait trouvé le secret afin de devenir riche ! Un morceau de papier blanc est placé sur le doigt et la boîte est refermée. Lorsque le couvercle est retiré, le papier s'est transformé magiquement en un billet de banque. Vous refermez à nouveau la boite mais à se ré-ouverture rien n'a changé, vous prenez alors le billet et soudain, le doigt revient à la vie et bouge à l'intérieur de la boîte ! il est devenu réel. Vous fermez à nouveau la boite et la tout est redevenu normal, le billet c'est transformé en papier et le doigt est à nouveau figé tout d'or vêtu.

A real CD is presented to the audience who can examine it and sign it. The CD is now inserted into a large envelope. The magician then takes the envelope in front of him, he shakes the envelope, and you hear the CD that moves to the inside. The envelope is now folded in half. So far nothing very surprising because the envelope is very large, but the magician folds the envelope again in two, again and again, until it becomes minuscule to the size of a small square. The CD has shrunken and you even see its shape through the envelope. The envelope is then unfolded and the CD came out, he returned to its original size and it's the CD signed at the beginning that you can now offer as a souvenir to the spectator.

Review: 
CD Compression (which was also released under the title "Fadeout" at a different time) is an original creation of Tomoyuki Shimomura  and that is why his name is mentioned as the inventor of this routine. This is a rather rare because generally magic tricks sold by Tenyo outside the main collection are frequently adapations or import of existing tricks. "CD Compression" is an interesting effects for all collectors who are interested by the career and creations of Tomoyuki Shimomura. Reading the description one can imagine a lot of possibilities to explain how the routine works and the solution found by Tomoyuki Shimomura is far from what I had imagined. The routine uses several interesting and complementary gimmick and the result is really clean once you mastered the sequence.

By cons CD Compression is far from automatic and "easy to do" tricks that Tenyo usually offers and it's typically an effect reserved to magicians who work and like to train seriously. It is possible to perform this trick in close-up, but it's probably easier to perform this magic on stage or parlor. You can let the audience examine or even sign the CD, there is no change, and it's the same CD that out of the envelope at the end. By cons The rest of the props can't be examined. Well mastered and well presented, CD Compression is an interesting effect that will remain unexplainable to the public. It is of course possible to perform this routine with other effects using a Cd. For example you can start by introducing T-138 The Devil Disk with CD on which you put your own signature. Then you can now use the same CD by presenting "The CD" while adding the signature of your spectator. At the end you can offer this truly magical CD with both signature as a souvenir.

Un CD est présenté aux spectateurs qui peuvent l' examiner et le signer si besoin. Le CD est ensuite inséré dans une grande enveloppe. Le magicien tient alors l'enveloppe à bout de bras, la secoue, on entend le CD qui bouge à l’intérieur, puis l'enveloppe est pliée en deux. Jusque là rien de très étonnant car l'enveloppe est très grande, mais le magicien plie à nouveau l'enveloppe en deux, et recommence encore, jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit minuscule et ne fasse plus que la taille d'un petit carré. Le CD a rétréci et on voit même sa forme à travers l'enveloppe. L'enveloppe est ensuite dépliée et le CD est ressorti, il a repris sa taille originale et c'est bien le CD signé au début que vous offrez en souvenir au spectateur.

CD Compression (qui a aussi été commercialisé sous le nom de Fadeout à différentes périodes) est une création originale de Tomoyuki Shimomura, c'est pour cette raison que son nom est cité en tant qu 'inventeur de cette routine. C'est une chose plutôt rare car en général les tours de magie vendus par Tenyo en  dehors de la collection principale sont souvent des adapations ou des importations de tours existants. CD Compresion est donc un effet intéressant pour tous les collectionneurs qui s'intéressent au parcour et aux créations de Tomoyuki Shimomura.  En lisant la description, on peut imaginer tout un tas de possibilités permettant d'expliquer comment fonctionne la routine et la solution trouvée par Tomoyuki Shimomura est bien loin de tout ce que j'avais pu imaginer. La routine utilise plusieurs gimmick assez intéressants et complémentaires et le résultat est vraiment clean une fois l'enchainement maitrisé.

Par contre CD Compression est bien loin des tours automatiques et "easy to do" que propose habituellement Tenyo, c'est typiquement un effet réservé aux magiciens, à ceux qui travaillent et aiment s'entraîner sérieusement. Il est sûrement possible de présenter ce tour en Close-up, mais l'idéal est sûrement de le présenter sur scène et c'est dans cette configuration qu'il sera le plus facile à maitriser.  Vous pouvez laisser les spectateurs examiner ou même signer le CD et c'est bien celui qui est inséré au début dans l'enveloppe qui en ressort à la fin. Le reste du matériel ne peut par contre pas être examiné. Bien maitrisé et bien présenté, CD Compression est un effet intéressant qui restera inexplicable pour le public. Il est bien sûr possible de faire cette routine en même temps que d'autres effets utilisant un CD.  Vous pourrez par exemple commencer par présenter T-138 The Devil Disk avec un CD sur lequel vous aurez mis votre  propre signature. Puis vous pourrez ensuite utiliser le même CD en présentant la routine de CD Compression tout en faisant ajouter la signature du spectateur à la votre. A la fin, vous pourrez offrir en souvenir au spectateur ce CD vraiment magique avec vos deux signatures.

Magician put an egg shaped card on the table as his prediction, then shows ten miniature cards on wich various oviparous animal names are printed. The cards are then separated into two packs and the magician asks the spectator to remove one of them, the process is repeated until there remains only one card, wich is "Snake". Now the magician takes the prediction egg-shaped card and said to the audience that they are about to hatch. When the spectator taps the prediction egg, it suddenly changes into snake and bites his finger !

Le magicien présente un étui contenant une carte découpée en forme d'œuf et annonce que c'est sa prédiction. Ensuite il sort de l'étui et présente une à une 10 cartes miniatures ou sont imprimés différents noms d'animaux ovipares. Les cartes sont alors séparées en deux paquets et le magicien demande au spectateur d'en éliminer un des deux, le processus est alors recommencé jusqu'à ce qu'il ne reste plus qu'une seule carte, "le Serpent". Le magicien prend alors en main sa prédiction en forme d'œuf et dit au spectateur qu'il est sur le point d'éclore et lui demande de tapoter en son centre... Soudain l'œuf se transforme en serpent et mord le doigt du spectateur ! La prédiction était donc correcte.
