The magician shows a small deck of cards representing different numbers. He selects a card as his prediction and put aside on the table. Now he takes 9 cards randomly in the packet and delivers them to the spectator. Then, the magician asks the spectator to choose a number between 1 and 9, for example number 4 is selected. Le magicien présente un petit paquet de cartes représentant des chiffres différents. Il sélectionne une des cartes comme sa prédiction et la met de coté sur la table. Ensuite il prend au hasard 9 cartes dans le paquet et les remet au spectateur. Le magicien demande alors au spectateur de choisir librement un chiffre entre 1 et 9, le spectateur choisi par exemple le 4. Le magicien demande alors au spectateur de prendre une à une 4 cartes pour les passer du dessus du paquet au dessous et de recommencer 3 fois.
Ensuite la carte étant sur le dessus du paquet après cette manipulation est placée sur la table, puis le spectateur se sert des cartes restantes pour faire une nouvelle pile de 3 cartes, puis une autre pile de 3 cartes. Les cartes restantes sont abandonnées. Les cartes sur le dessus de chaque pile sont alors retournées et on découvre alors trois cartes représentant 3 chiffres, par exemple le 12, le 0 et le 1.
